Social safety as an integral part of your festival or event.
Social safety does not happen by itself
Social safety is moving higher up the agenda. Festivals are places of freedom, connection and expression. At the same time, research and recent developments show that social safety cannot be taken for granted. Six in ten visitors to live music events report having experienced sexual harassment or assault; among female visitors, that figure is 82%.
A socially safe festival does not happen by itself. It requires attention before, during and after the event. That is why we work alongside your team, visitors and existing ways of working, so agreements, roles and practical response options are not merely designed, but also put into practice, evaluated and embedded within the organisation.
OUR SOCIAL SAFETY TEAMS
During the festival, our Social Safety Teams are visible, approachable and easy to contact. We support on three levels: identifying signals, de-escalating and mediating.
Our Social Safety Teams offer visitors a recognisable point of contact, identify situations early and provide support when someone feels uncomfortable, unsafe or overwhelmed.
Our teams receive extensive training in:
recognising inappropriate behaviour;
identifying tension, discomfort and potential unsafety;
de-escalation and addressing behaviour;
mediating conflicts;
consent and boundaries;
handling situations involving substance use;
supporting people without taking over;
referral and reporting;
working alongside Social Safety, first aid, security and production.
We also provide training for team leaders, crew, volunteers, production teams and bar staff.

Why Social Safety by AuthentiCare?
AuthentiCare combines training, policy and on-site Social Safety Teams. This means we support festivals and events not only in preparation, but also at the moments when social safety becomes visible in practice.
We specialise in social safety in festival and event settings, with a people-centred approach that complements security and first aid. Our focus is on behaviour, identifying signals, contact, support and de-escalation.
We use practical, proprietary models that teams, crew and organisations can apply immediately to make social safety tangible and respond consistently.
On site, we work professionally alongside security, first aid and production teams so that roles and responsibilities are clear and action can be taken quickly when needed.

Experiences from practice
“Of all the organisations we have worked with on Social Safety over the years, AuthentiCare stands head and shoulders above the rest. That is why we invited AuthentiCare to contribute as a keynote speaker at our team day, where they share their vision and expertise on social safety with our volunteers. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and believe that social safety is an essential part of the future of events.”
